Shortly after this assignment sheet was issued, the R-44 fleet was reduced to 28 cars (two trains plus a four car unit spare) on the A. On July 19th it was reported that some R-44 cars have been on the C in recent days. I confirmed that 12 R-44 cars had been reactivated and placed into service there. With this, they are supposed to be off the A, but as all car assignments are guides, they might still be there too. The main reason for the reactivation was the air conditioning of some of the R-32 cars is not reliable and with heat of 2010, it was felt necessary to rescue the passengers. This will mean that the R-44 cars will remain in service until at least the end of the summer.
